The history books were rewritten when skipper Maggie Tweed was finally able to go ahead with her Lady Captain’s Day at Weston Turville Golf Club.
Kathy Horabin broke the long standing course record with a magnificent gross 73.
Kathy, who is also a past lady captain, and going off a handicap of seven was absolutely over the moon at her achievement.
The weather also played its part with a fine sunny day and not much wind.
Nearly 50 lady members took to the course and it was no surprise that Kathy also took the top honours winning the morning round with 40 points, just beating Linda Corstorphine with 39 points, and Sheelagh Culverhouse third with 36pts.
At the club’s evening dinner celebrations, a delighted Tweed handed out the various competition prizes, no doubt relieved that the day had gone well, and happy that Kathy had recorded her record score.
