CAMPAIGNERS have reacted angrily to a new deadline for the removal of a disused bus shelter labelled a “deathtrap”.
The shelter, owned by JC Decaux, is on the corner of Welland Road and Ellen Road and blocks views of oncoming traffic.
During a long campaign residents presented a petition of more than 100 signatures warning of the danger. Bucks County Council said in September the shelter would be removed.
In December campaigner Peter Young was told it would be gone in eight to ten weeks, but after the intended destination for the shelter was changed JC Decaux has now said it will be six to eight weeks before it is relocated to Berryfields after planning permission was granted.
Mr Young said: “It seems like we’re going round in circles. We keep on getting promised things and nothing gets done.
“We don’t really trust what they say anymore.”
