ASSURANCES are being sought about plans to change how the NHS operates across Buckinghamshire.
A committee of councillors is demanding to know whether GPs have the capacity to reduce the numbers of patients who currently attend A&E, how cottage hospitals fit into the plans, what transport studies are being carried out, what the financial business plan is and what benefits the proposals offer to patients overall.
The county’s Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee made the comments in its submission to the Better Healthcare in Bucks consultation, which finished in April.
Committee chairman Lin Hazell said: “We are aware that there has been public concern, particularly in the Wycombe area, around some of the proposals. We have reflected this in our response to the NHS and have put forward recommendations which we believe will help to mitigate some of the concerns. We now await the response from the NHS.”
