FC Thame consolidated their position at the top of the Wycombe senior league on Saturday with a 4-1 win over third-placed Amersham and therefore securing at least a runners up spot in the title chase.
Thame dominated the match from start to finish with some fantastic build up play but were unable to apply the finish, this was until skipper Almond took the matter into his own hands when beating three defenders before rifling home the opening goal.
Thame then added a second before half-time when Delderfield finished off another great move with a smart finish.
A spectacular volley brought Amersham back into it in the second half, however even at 2-1 the scoreline was never really in doubt and Almond completed his hat-trick for a 4-1 final score.
FC Thame return to cup action Saturday with a league cup semi-final against AFC Spartans before the hugely exciting clash against Thame Reserves in the Oxon County final on Friday 15th April 730 kick-off down at ASM Stadium.
