THAME: Town’s new bridal boutique caters for the curvier lady

The owner of a successful bridal boutique has just opened her second shop for the fuller-figured bride.

Anna McDonald has run the Anna McDonald Bridal Gallery in East Street, Thame for seven years and now her new Curvy Couture shop on the Upper High Street caters for UK dress sizes 20 to 30.

Anna, of Lower High Street, said she recognised a gap in the market and wanted to do something about it.

The 46 year old said: “I was finding that we couldn’t give every bride the service we wanted.

“We only go up to size 16 and curvier girls were having to shop elsewhere.”

The mum-of-two credits her late father Ted Wyatt for the inspiration to open a new store.

She said: “My dad designed the beautiful cabinets for the original store and after his death last year, we asked a former colleague of his to use his designs to create furniture for the new boutique.

“I want to make him proud.”

The former PA said she is pleased to now offer a choice for woman of all shapes and sizes.

She said: “Girls shouldn’t have to buy dresses online without being able to try them on, or feel they can’t get the beautiful dress they want just because they are bigger.

“We had our first fitting on Saturday and we look forward to many more.”
