Thame petrol thefts spate

THE town has been struck with a spate of petrol and licence plate thefts, say police.

Thames Valley Police has put out a community message warning people to take extra care after recent incidents.

Registration plates have been stolen from vehicles at the following locations in Thame: Vane Road and The Maltings, High Street, between February 8 and 9, Priest End, on February 10, and Priest End, between February 3 and 7.

Police say they believe the criminals are using some of these stolen plates to fix to other vehicles, which are then used to fill up with fuel from petrol stations and leave without paying.

Diesel has been stolen from a business premises in Dormer Road, Thame, between February 10 and 13.

The thieves are believed to have smashed a fuel cap on a lorry and before stealing half a tank of diesel.
