A school bus driver has joined forces with a member of a chart-topping Aylesbury band to record a charity song.
Steve Ashall, a member of Aylesbury group The Kez, transports pupils from Stocklake Park, Booker Park and Harding House schools during the week, alongside playing in the covers band at weekends.
He has now teamed up with Marillion bass player Pete Trewavas on his latest song Rock n Roll Circus.
The Vale Federation schools have chosen the single as their charity song, and all proceeds from its release will go to the schools’ chosen charity Masks (Make a Special Kid Smile).
Steve was also joined on the song by fellow Kez members Doug Hearn and Russell Chainey, plus former Fish guitarist Robin Boult and star of West End musical Cats Chrissie Hammond.
Steve, 57, from Williams Close said: “It was through Robin that I managed to invite Pete to play on the record.
“It was a brilliant opportunity to be able to play alongside a professional musician.
“I hope the single does really well because all the profits are going to a very good cause.”
The song will be available to download on iTunes and Amazon on Monday June 9 and all proceeds will go directly to Masks.
