Students have been helping dig up skeleton bones to help secure the future of a Grade II* listed church.
Bucks UTC’s construction students have teamed up with the Churches Conservation Trust to restore the St Mary-at-the-Quay church in Ipswich.
But before that can be done, excavations must be carried out which has included digging up five fully intact skeletons.
Students from the Oxford Road college, who will continue to visit the Ipswich site, are learning about planning and building as part of their employer project work.
Trust director for the South East Peter Aiers said: “We are delighted that Bucks UTC students are involved with this project.
“This vital work will ensure that St Mary’s has a sustainable future and that the building will remain open for many years to come.”
