An injured man had to be freed from his car by firefighters after a lorry and two cars crashed in Fleet Marston this morning.

The collision happened at around 7.35am and the road was closed, causing long delays. It is understood the lorry ended up in a ditch.

Three fire crews from Aylesbury rushed to the scene and used hydraulic rescue equipment to free the man, which took about 25 minutes.

Firefighters helped paramedics treat the man, who was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Another person involved in the crash was also taken to Stoke Mandeville Hospital. The extent of their injuries is not known.

Police said the road was expected to re-open shortly after 10am.

Some people took to Twitter to warn others of the resulting congestion, including Andy Clement, who tweeted: “A41 Waddesdon to Aylesbury absolute standstill find another route.”
