A Prestwood man has been charged with manslaughter in connection with the death of a man who died after taking a fat-burning drug.
Jason King, 41, of Hazell Road, has been charged with manslaughter, conspiracy to produce a class C drug and conspiracy to supply a class C drug.
It is in connection with the death of Sean Cleathero, 28, from High Wycombe, who died in hospital last October after taking a substance called DNP.
The industrial chemical is popular with bodybuilders but there have been warnings that it is not safe for human consumption.
Three other people have been charged in relation to the inquiry. They are:
> Peter Purkins, 46, of Heather Walk, Hazlemere, has been charged with manslaughter, conspiracy to produce a class C drug and conspiracy to supply a class C drug
> Jamie Chivers, 43, of Spring Gardens Road, High Wycombe, has been charged with manslaughter, conspiracy to produce a class C drug, conspiracy to supply a class C drug and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice
> Laura Hague, 22, of Orchard Grove, Chalfont St Peter, has been charged with conspiracy to produce a class C drug, conspiracy to supply a class C drug and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice
All four have been released on bail to appear at Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on September 27.
