The Oxfordshire Hotel and Golf Club in Thame was the venue for the final of the 888poker.com PGA EuroPro Tour last week.
The field included two of the county’s top golfers, professional Craig Hinton and amateur Jordan Garnish.
Hinton had an impressive performance, shooting a 68 in the final round to finish on a score of three under par, placing him 26th overall.
Garnish, meanwhile found the event a bit of a struggle, finishing at six over par after a final round of 77.
The eventual winner was George Woolgar of Chesterfield who won the tournament courtesy of a play-off.
In the process, he became the first golfer to win multiple events on the tour this season.
Jim Pettifer, general manager of The Oxfordshire Golf Club said it was an honour for the club, located on Rycote Lane in Thame, to host the event.
He said: “We are very proud to have hosted the PGA EuroPro Tour last week, and even more so to have had two of our very own players, whom we have supported since they were junior golfers- Hinton and Garnish - make the cut to the final.
“It has been a thrilling few days and as expected the golfers gave us some excellent plays that won’t be forgotten anytime soon.”
The next event on the PGA EuroPro Tour is the Eagle Orchid Scottish Masters at Montrose Golf Links, starting on Tuesday September 25.
