People in Bucks need to take more responsibility for themselves, according to a county councillor.
Speaking at Bucks County Council’s annual debate last week, Tory Val Letheren said: “We have become too much of a nanny state telling people what to do and where to go.
“We must take more responsibility for ourselves.
“We know we’re too fat and drink too much but we don’t do anything about it. Well, do it or otherwise have a miserable old age.
“We need to get back our self discipline.”
