End of life care is high on the Government’s agenda, so an awards ceremony for experts in the field was particularly apt.

It was held at Green Park, Aston Clinton, where 75 care workers from across Bucks were awarded with certificates for training successfully completed. The QCF Level 3 Awareness of End of Life Care award was presented to care workers who had completed a series of end of life care workshops, workbooks and home study, and was awarded to care workers from both residential and domiciliary care settings.

Caroline Post, workforce development officer at MKB Care Association said: “It was a really positive event and really drives home the importance of ensuring that staff and providers feel valued. We all felt proud of their achievements.”

The project has been developed jointly by the Florence Nightingale Hospice, Buckinghamshire County Council, Total Training Solutions & Consultancy Ltd and the care association, and was supported by Workforce Development Funding from Skills for Care.

Marion Child, learning & development manager ASC, Bucks County Council and Jane Naismith, Nightingale 24/7 care team lead at Florence Nightingale Hospice, presented the care workers with their certificates.
