Nordic walking in Thame to help build fitness

People living in and around Thame can learn all about the benefits of Nordic walking next month on a special course.

The initiative is part of South Oxfordshire’s GO (Get Oxfordshire) Active programme.

Once people complete the course, they will be able to join free walks with volunteer Nordic walk leaders to keep up their practice and build on their Nordic fitness.

Volunteer Daphne Hazeldine said: “As well as being an enormously enjoyable activity, Nordic walks are very sociable occasions and I have made many new friends.”

The course will take place from Thame Leisure Centre on April 2 and 9, from 2pm to 4pm.

It costs £30 per person and poles will be provided during the course.

If you are interested in signing up for the next course, please contact Hendriette Thorn by calling 01491 823175 or email hendriette.thorn@southandvale.gov.uk
