Theatre youngsters prepare to impress

A YOUTH drama company will keep you guessing up to the very end and well entertained with its up and coming new plays.

Haddenham Youth Theatre Group is busy putting the final touches on both their forthcoming one-act plays.

The junior group is presenting Spud Ferret and the Case of the Stolen Diamonds, a classic mystery, while the senior group is presenting Tom Jones, an adaptation of the Henry Fielding period romp.

Company director, Lynne Colley, says she is very pleased with what the youths have achieved.

“I am so proud of what both groups have achieved this year, they have been working extremely hard,” she said.

“If you like theatre, please come and give them your support and enjoy a great evening’s entertainment!

“We will also have a licensed bar available before the performance and during the interval too.”

Lynne added that the group is making extra efforts to publicise themselves this year, as on previous occasions the performers have been wounded by the lack of people who have turned out to watch the shows.

“It’s very disheartening for the children who put in so much effort when people don’t come in significant numbers,” she added.

“This year we are making a special effort to let people know about us.”

The performances take place on January 27 and 28 at Haddenham Community Junior School at 7pm.

Tickets are available to purchase in advance through Pallets Estate Agents in Haddenham (call 01844 290440). They will also be available on the night.
