Perfect excuse to clown around as troupe gets ready to visit

RESIDENTS should beware of low-flying custard pies as one of Britain’s last surviving travelling clown troupes comes to Thame’s Players Theatre at the end of the month.

The National Clown Theatre stages a special performance at 2.30pm on Sunday January 29.

Combining the comedy of pantomime with the thrill of the circus, the show features traditional slapstick, magic, a quick change illusionist, an acrobatic human slinky, balancing, prizes and surprises.

This is the company’s first visit to the Players Theatre.

“We are bringing gallons of fun and bucketfuls of laughs,” said Charlie Cheesecake, the show’s chief clown.

“It is a special family show presented by our family for the families of Thame.

“It is a great chance for children, parents and grandparents to come and have a laugh with us on Sunday.”

Tickets are available in advance from 01384 423496.
