Those gasping for a pint will be in heaven as Aylesbury’s annual beer festival in aid of Florence Nightingale Hospice returns this weekend.
The festival organised by Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) is in its 19th year and will be aiming to top the £7,000 it raised for the charity last year.
The festival has adopted a best of British theme this year and will boast more than 30 real ales and six ciders and perries.
Chairman of the Aylesbury Vale and Wycombe CAMRA Alexander Wright said: “Friday night is more of a quiet night for you and your beer, whereas on Saturday we have got a live band and a hog roast.”
The Saturday night will feature live act Dragon Drop who return after last year’s fine performance.
The festival will boast more than 30 real ales and six ciders.
Mr Wright added: “I look forward to this every year. It’s always great fun to organise.
“It’s great to see everyone enjoying themselves. The media likes to portray this yobbo drinking culture but you don’t get that at beer festivals.”
Just like previous years businesses can sponsor a barrel for £100 to support the hospice. Interested businesses can email teresaking@fnhospice.org.uk.
Last year more than 500 people attended the festival with people travelling from far and wide to sample the beers and ales on offer.
Mr Wright is hopeful they can replicate the success.
“Last year we raised £7,000 and we will certainly be giving it another good go this year.”
The festival takes place at the Bucks CC Sports and Social Club in Stoke Mandeville and will begin on Friday at 6pm to 11pm and then open on Saturday from 11am to 11pm.

All of the money goes to the hospice which supports local families affected by life-limiting illness through in-patient and at-home services.
