Aylesbury FC continued their revival as they came back from two goals down to hit AFC Hayes for six.
Moles boss Craig Faulconbridge said he ‘tore’ into his side at half-time as they entered the break 2-1 down.
He said: “For the first 35 minutes we didn’t play. We felt as if we could just turn up. The half-time team talk was interesting.”
The former Premier League striker paid tribute to Sonny French’s ‘moment of individual brilliance’ as his stunning solo goal before half-time brought FC within touching distance.
The Moles came flying out of the traps after the break as Faulconbridge himself got on the scoresheet.
James Faulkner grabbed two goals, Jamie Connor steered one home and veteran striker Brian Haule also got in on the act.
After a recent lack of goals, Faulconbridge was delighted by his side’s attacking verve.
“The strikers have come in for a bit of stick lately and they really threw it back in my face.
“The lads deserve the credit, especially the strikers, they deserve the plaudits. They will be absolutely buzzing.
“After half-time we absolutely battered them.”
It was FC’s third win on the bounce and Faulconbridge said it further vindicated the decision to avoid wholesale changes after a difficult start to the season.
“I haven’t changed the way I approach things. The lads understand how I want to play. My throat is getting a bit better because I’m not having to scream and shout as much.”
At the time of going to press FC were due to welcome Cambridge City in the Red Insure Cup first round (kick-off 7.45pm).
