Striker Rob Hall made his Premier League debut in West Ham’s 3-0 London derby win over Fulham last Saturday and with new loan signing Andy Carroll ruled out for six weeks, he is hopeful of more opportunities.
The Aylesbury teenager, who has been with the Hammers from the age of seven, impressed manager Sam Allardyce enough to be included among the subs for the game, which was live on SkySports.
After replacing Guy Demel on 79 minutes, the youngster almost scored but his powerful drive was blocked.
The former Grange School pupil told West Ham TV: “I’m very, very happy with making that step into the Premiership setup and the lads helped me through it well. They’re good with the young lads here so whoever gets the opportunity they really help them out.
“The crowd play their part well, especially at Upton Park and even when we go away.
“I thoroughly enjoyed it and its nice getting good remarks when you come off the pitch.
“Today the one (shot) got blocked. Next time I’ve just got to try and not be too nervous and hopefully it will come.”
With the international break taking place, Hall’s next chance to pull on the claret and blue shirt will be when the Irons travel to Norwich City next Saturday.
