A family from Tiddington that lost their youngest daughter to a heart attack after she had battled cancer is holding a charity fundraiser in her honour.
Jane Boswell’s daughter Samantha was diagnosed with breast cancer in May last year and her treatment appeared to be going well.
But just three weeks after Samantha took part in the Race for Life she died, aged 30, from a massive heart attack caused by underlying heart disease which had gone undetected.
Mrs Boswell, who herself had a heart attack earlier this year but survived, said her death has left the family ‘devastated’.
“She was a very caring person,” Mrs Boswell said of Samantha, who worked for Risborough Carers for five years before her death.
“She just loved people and was always trying to help.
“All she wanted to do was have a normal life, get married, have children and live happily ever after. But things didn’t work out that way.”
To mark the anniversary of Samantha’s death, Mrs Boswell and her husband are organising a dance at Tiddington Village Hall on August 25.
The event will raise money for the Scannappeal at High Wycombe Hospital and the heart centre at Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital, where Mrs Boswell was treated after her heart attack.
The dance will include a dinner, raffle and auction, with prizes including theatre tickets and beauty treatments. Tickets cost £10 and the dance will be from 7.30pm to midnight. For more information and to buy a ticket call 07775983770.
