Desborough defeat for Thame bowlers

Twenty four bowlers from Desborough descended on Thame for the first leg of two friendly fixtures.

At the halfway stage the scores were almost level up to the penultimate end, with both sides playing well, the visitors held a slim lead of nine shots.

But on the final end Desborough achieved a total of 19 shots from all six rinks, to take the game 135-106.

Top rink honours for Thame went to Maureen Giles,Cyril Noyce,Simon Bell and skip Mel Dale with 26 shots to 22.

The Midweek game of mixed triples with the visitors from Loudwater Bowls Club was enjoyed by both sides in warm sunny conditions. Both teams won two rinks each and drew on one, with Thame taking the game by a close 83 shots to 78.
