Florence Nigthtingale Hospice paid tribute to the Thame community after its Sunny Sunflower Month raised more than £760.
The charity collected donations outside Sainsbury’s in Thame High Street last week in exchange for a free recipe from celebrity chef Lotte Duncan.
Claire White of the hospice said: “On behalf of everyone involved, I would like to say a very big thank you to local people.
“Over £760 was raised in total, which is the equivalent of funding seven patient appointments at our Lymphoedema Clinic. This specialist clinic helps reduce swelling, pain and discomfort in the limbs often associated with cancer, through massage and bandaging.”
The event is one of many the hospice is hosting throughout the year in a bid to raise the £600,000 necessary to help maintain services for local families affected by life-limiting illnesses.
