Plan Care scandal: Firm’s boss and councillor reassure public

A CARE firm boss has put out a public message of reassurance after extra measures were put in place to improve the standard of service.

Director of personnel and training at Plan Care, Julian Hutchings, claims plans have now been put in place to ensure the standard of care provided by the Bucks County Council contracted firm is up to scratch.

“We acknowledge that there are people who are unhappy with some aspects of the service and for that we apologise,” he said.

“In order to make improvements, we have transferred a number of senior officers from other offices to our Aylesbury base.

“We have also recruited a senior manager externally from the company to help run things.

“We have also recruited a number of new office workers in order to try and make sure we are giving a better service for our clients.

“We are confident we will meet everybody’s standards and expectations of home care service.”

Bucks County councillor responsible for adult social care, Patricia Birchley, has also said she and the council are striving to improve the situation, and have even drafted in council officers to work in the Aylesbury Plan Care offices.

“I will be an absolute champion for these people,” she said.

“I will ensure that all the vulnerable people in Buckinghamshire get the very best service they possibly can for as long as I am able to.”
