Teenagers across Aylesbury have organised a second charity concert in response to the lack of safe, affordable gigs in the town for their age group.
The latest show, which features four of Aylesbury’s hottest new bands, takes place on Friday from 7pm at the Limelight Theatre.
The previous show back in February raised £300 for charity and the team hope to raise more money this time for the Florence Nightingale Hospice.
Event spokesman Nikita Strange said: “The committee originally came up with the idea for the charity gig nights after noticing a gap in the market for affordable, safe music gigs for teens in Aylesbury.
“The first gig night was testament to the outstanding talent, not only of the students involved in organising the event, but also to the exceptional musical abilities of young people in Aylesbury.”
The headline act on Friday will be indie/rock group The Claydons, a four-piece who all attend Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School.
Nikita said: “Their slot received so much praise after the original teens charity gig night that the committee felt it was only natural to offer them the headline slot this time around.”
Other highlights include James Munro, a fellow Sir Henry Floyd pupil who will be performing on his own and former acoustic duo The New Bays.
A group of pupils from Aylesbury Grammar School and Amersham College, known as Lost In London, will also be performing.
The six members of the teenage organising committee are known as The Lighters – in reference to the name of the Limelight Theatre.
Tickets for the show are £5 in advance or £6 on the door.
Doors open at 7pm on Friday, with the first band on stage at 7.30pm.
