A NUMBER of players who train with the Everyball International Academy based at Halton Tennis Centre reached semi-finals and finals at the Rickmansworth LTA Grade 3 tournament held last week.
Calum McKinlay beat Joe Tingey in the 16 and Under Boys final 6-3, 6-1.
It capped one of the best weeks of his young career in which he also beat the number one seed Jake Munns (Herts) and number three seed Michael Shaw (Milton Keynes) – each with tie break wins.
Gavin McKinlay and Jack Mordey won the 18 and Under Boys doubles beating Calum and Joe 6-2, 7-5, while Tor Pisani beat number three seed Carly Williams (Herts) in the Under 21 final 6-4, 6-3, as well as reaching the semi-finals of the 16 and Under event.
Jack Mordey lost in the final of the Under 21s against Adam Coyne (Herts) while Gavin McKinlay lost to Adam (number one seed) in the 18 and Under final – a close fought match 4-6, 1-6 in which he performed extremely well.
Other notable Halton performances saw Sam Gough lose in the semi-finals of the 14 and Under event to Michael Shaw, with Jake Williams winning the consolation final.
Meanwhile, Sam and Toby Rogers beat Halton’s Oscar Glenister and Jake Williams to get to the finals of the 14 and Under doubles.
