Britannia and Long Marston will be giving their all to win this season’s Sheffield Jackman Cup on Monday night at Tring Athletic’s Grassroots Stadium.

And there will be a special guest handing out the trophies.

To the referees who officiate in the Aylesbury and District Football League he is known as a colleague. To the 1,600 registered players who turn out most Saturdays he is known as someone they have to tolerate in order to play the game they love.

To everyone else he is known as the drummer in one of the longest lasting bands in the world of music.

Scott Ottaway (pictured) will no doubt be bringing all these roles together as he presents the awards at the Sheffield Jackman Cup, which is to be played at Tring Athletic on Monday April 16 (7.45pm kick off).

The Sheffield Jackman Cup is open to all 44 teams outside the ADL Premier League and this season features two teams in Long Marston and Britannia who are striving for promotion to the top league – both being in the pack of four sides who are presently are neck and neck at the top of Division One.

The official in charge for the final is Graham Howard. Ian MacLeod and Lee Wiles are offering their assistance on the lines, while Steve Downer will try and keep order in the dug outs as fourth official.
