TWO members of public speaking club Thame Toastmasters won first place at a competition last week.
Elizabeth Toohig won the International Speech Contest and Angus Galbraith took the International Evaluation Contest top spot at the Area level of the competition in Aylesbury.
They will both go on to represent Thame at the Division level contest, to be held in Cheltenham on April 22.
Angus, a veteran speaker who has achieved the highest accolades possible in Toastmaster circles said: “Toastmasters is about developing public speaking skills and confidence and these competitions are always a lot of fun.”
Thame Speakers recently changed venues to the Chinnor Rugby Club and meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 7:45-10pm.
If you have nerves in front of an audience you would like to overcome, the group welcomes anybody to the meetings who would like to find out more.
