WITH Aylesbury’s Jardines Bowling Alley now closed, the Bucks Monday Night Doubles has moved to Dunstable.

Regrettably only a handful of the scratch bowlers are bowling so the league has been bolstered by handicap bowlers thus making a scatch\league into a handicap one with 11 teams participating.

The first week of bowling at the new venue saw Neil Craske surprising the league with a 235 scratch game and 623 series for Fallin’ Apart, who beat The Screwballs 19-1.

Husband and wife team Mila and Paul Brooks also secured 19 points at the expense of The Refreshers.

Last season’s scratch runners-up Nick Kelly and Mark Richardson won a close match 11.5-8.5 against The Small Ones who had Kat Allen making 618 with handicap.

In the other matches, Team Gowland beat Little and Large 15-5 and The Goodfellows drew 10-10 with Storm Force.
