ENGLAND and Arsenal footballer Ellen White is The Bucks Herald Sports Personality for February.
The Arsenal Ladies star picks up the award for being voted the England Women’s Player of the Year by Three Lions fans.
The 22 year old, from Bedgrove, goes into the running to win the Bucks Herald Sports Personality of the Year 2012 which will be voted for by you the readers.
She also wins a months’ free access all areas pass at award sponsor Nuffield Gym, Fairford Leys as well as a sports massage.
White played 13 times for her country and joint-top scored as she netted four times.
“Obviously it’s an honour to be given the sports personality award.”
“It’s always nice to get recognition, especially in your home town.
“The support of the paper and the local people has always meant a lot to me.
“I’m so lucky to be doing something I love.”
The silky striker is currently on international duty in Cyprus as the ladies’ season prepares to kick-off. The England team are competing in the friendly tournament the Cyprus Cup and face France on Sunday.
“They beat us in the World Cup semi-final last year so this really is a revenge match.”
White has also been selected in the extended GB squad for the London 2012 Olympics.
