A SCOUT hut which burned to the ground almost five years ago has at last arisen from the ashes.
In the early hours of March 19, 2007, a blaze broke out in Long Crendon scout hut.
Before long, a large part of the timber structure had been completely destroyed and in subsequent weeks the whole building had to be demolished.
The displaced brownies, cubs, scouts and beavers of the First Bernwood Forest Scout Group were forced to relocate to Long Crendon Community Centre for the time being, while a solution was sought to finding a new permanent home.
Now, almost exactly five years after the blaze, the Scout Group has a brand new purpose-designed building to move into at the original Chearsley Road site.
