A COUPLE is celebrating a rare platinum anniversary this week.
Jessie and Bill Fuller aged 90 and 91, of Haddenham, have been married since February 1942 – meaning they have devoted 70 years to one another.
The pair married at the tender ages of 20 and 21 at St Paul’s Church in Bledlow Ridge, and have a daughter and two grandchildren.
When asked the secret to a long and lasting relationship, Jessie simply answered: “Don’t argue over money, and always give and take. I take and he gives!
Bill added: “And if you’re having a disagreement you have to sort it out right away. Never go to bed on an argument.
“We’ve never gone to bed without one another in 70 years, and we always kiss one another goodnight.
“Even when the one’s tired and the other isn’t we always go to bed together.”
Their daughter Leslie Honer has described her parents as ‘amazing’.
“You can’t find a 70th anniversary card for love nor money, because people just don’t get to that age together – and they’re still doing so well and living independently.”
