Help give town a spring clean on Tidy Thame Day

After the incredible success of last year’s Tidy Thame Day, the town is all set to repeat the event on Sunday, March 25.

In 2011, Thame was left sparkling after a day of painting, cleaning, repairing, trimming and litter collecting all over town.

Residents groups, youth organisations, fire fighters, schools and other community-spirited people came together to spruce up the town and what an amazing job they did.

Councillor Adam Buckland, who as mayor last year, organised the very first Tidy Thame Day, would like to see even more people taking part

He said: “It would be great to make this year’s day even bigger and better with the whole community coming together to make Thame a tidier, brighter place to work, rest and play.”

This year the event will take place from 10am to 4pm and if you want to take part you can contact your local Residents Association or leave your details at the Town Hall and an organiser will be in touch.

Refreshments will be provided afterwards at the Scouts HQ in Southern Road.

The day will be dedicated this year to the memory of Ben Guest, who sadly died last month. Ben helped clean the bus shelters last year and personified Thame’s community spirit.
