The curtain came down on another successful season for Thame United this week.
For the second year in a row, United secured a top six finish in the Hellenic League Premier Division, maintaining a high degree of consistency throughout the season.
The league form was also maintained in a myriad of cup competitions.
In the national FA Vase n, United progressed through four rounds, including a particularly impressive 7-2 victory at Frimley Green, before narrowly losing out to quarter-finalists and Hellenic Premier Division champions Kidlington.
In other competitions, United progressed to the semi-final of the League Cup, losing on penalties to Flackwell Heath, whilst interest in the league Floodlit Cup was ended at the quarter-final stage in a 2-0 defeat at league runners-up, Thatcham Town.
In the Oxfordshire Senior Cup, it was another last eight appearance before Kidlington again won through, defeating United 1-0 in a close game at the ASM Stadium.
With a settled and solid squad, manager Mark West and assistant manager Stuart Blaik are already looking at making additions to the squad in key positions, as United look to break into the top three next season.
Success has not been limited to the First Team.
The Reserves finished second in the Hellenic League Division 2 East, and are finalists in the Oxfordshire Intermediate Cup, while players have emerged from the Youth Team to play regularly for the firsts.
Thame ladies have competed well in Division Two (North) of the Thames Valley Counties Women’s Football League, whilst the Vets remain in search of silverware in both the league and cup.
