Thame continued their great start to 2015 with a seven-wicket victory against Banbury IIs.
The home side elected to bat first but an excellent opening spell of swing and seam bowling from Thame veteran Sam Lachlan (4-17) demolished Banbury’s top order, after which Hassam Mushtaq took three wickets and captain Mike Higgs picked up a couple to bowl out Banbury for measly 62.
In reply. Banbury bowled well and Thame had to be patient. Will Sutcliffe scored 31 and Honey Garg 20 as Thame knocked the total off in 19 overs to make it two wins from two.
Thame are away to Twyford this weekend.
Elsewhere, the IIs claimed a home draw to Oxford IIIs largely thanks to Adam Phippen, who took 4-35 and then hit an unbeaten 77 in Thame’s 149-9 as they chased 211.
The IIIs secured a win over Dinton IIIs as Vimal Desai (30) and skipper Pete Tervet (40no) helped them post 153-8 before Desai again starred, taking 6-33 to dismiss Dinton for 142.
