A Thame resident is celebrating after winning £1,000 while booking her dream holiday.
Ann Atkins, 71, planned the trip to Croatia with the help of Midcounties Co-Operative Travel, High Street, Thame.
While in the process of booking the holiday, Ann purchased a £2 Travel Lottery ticket and was drawn as a monthly winner.
Ann, who is going on holiday with her friend Maggie Wheeler, 69, said: “This is a lovely surprise for us as well as support for ethical tourism.
“The Travel Lottery is a brilliant idea and we should all be planning our trips with this approach in mind.
“We’re looking forward to an enjoyable break with a bonus of extra spending money.”
Travel Lottery tickets help to support local communities and the environment in popular holiday destinations.
The Travel Lottery is run by the Travel Foundation, a charity which works with the travel industry to encourage sustainable tourism.
Travel Foundation chief executive Salli Felton said: “We’re proud to be able to give something back to generous people like Ann and make a real difference at the same time.”
