The route for this year’s Tour of Britain cycle race, featuring a stage through Bucks and Oxon, has been unveiled.
Stage Six of the tour, which takes place on Friday September 12, begins in Bath before taking in Oxfordshire including Chinnor.
There one of the day’s three King of the Mountains climbs will take place as the riders go up Chinnor Hill.
The race then enters Bucks in Stokenchurch, before heading to Princes Risborough where the riders will contest the day’s YodelDirect Sprint.
The second King of the Mountains climb is Kop Hill in Princes Risborough.
The 203km stage finishes in Hemel Hempstead.
The official launch of the route took place at the Chiltern Cycling Festival, where Olympic silver and bronze medal winning cyclist Bryan Steel joined Bucks County Council’s events team.
Bryan said: “This is a great celebration of competitive cycling.
“What a brilliant challenge Buckinghamshire will present the 120 riders, and let’s hope it inspires cyclists across the county to try the route themselves.”
