BUCKS darts played out a dramatic 18-18 draw with Avon West of England recently.
In this month’s Division Three fixture four teams from each county played out a series of tense matches on the weekend of January 28 and 29.
First up were the ladies’ B team and Amanda Kuling lost 3-1, next was the turn of Dawn Goff who reversed the previous result to record a 3-1 victory.
The winning trend continued Jane Sobey then managed another 3-1 triumph. Donna Hoyle then battled to a 3-2 win after coming back from two down before Sue Smith won 3-0 and Lesley Gibbs lost 3-2 to give Bucks a 4-2 lead.
The men’s B team captain Pete Smith started the his side’s tie with a 3-2 win followed by Mick Carrick who won 3-0.
Matthew Circuitt then won 3-1 but the next five games went to Avon putting the men’s scoreline 5-3 to the visitors.
Next up-stepped Karl Deacon who emerged victoriuos with a 3-0 whitewash before Kevin Locke and Craig Cox both lost their games. Eddie Ford won the last match 3-0 to leave the Saturday score tied at 9-9.
Sunday games got under way with the ladies’ A match up first with Felicia Blay winning 3-1 followed by a 3-0 victory for Fallon Sherrock. Kirsty Gibbs continued the trend with a 3-1 triumph before Ann Wakefield also won 3-0.
Kate Drake was the next Bucks 3-0 winner but then Barbara Legge sadly lost her game 3-2 to bring the overall score to 14–10 to Bucks.
In the men’s A team match Julian Fyffe lost 3-0 Mark Day then lost 3-1. Terry Davis succumbed 3-1 before Paul Stefanovic snatched a 3-2 win.
Lee Rose and Sean Ross both lost 3-1 but then up stepped Rob Allen to win 3-0.
Phil Simpson also won 3-2 to take the squad within two legs of a draw or three for a win.
Steve Sherrock fell to a 3-0 before Damien Fyffe won the final game 3-1 to take the score to 18-18.
