Main ring attractions, a huge local food market, and numerous amusing young farmers competitions are just some of the things on offer at the Bledlow Country Show today (Saturday).

The annual show hosted by Buckinghamshire Young Farmers is always a great favourite with the general public, with thousands of visitors enjoying a day in the countryside.

This year it is the turn of Princes Risborough Young Farmers to host the show, and they’ve been busy preparing the showground at Manor House Farm, Perry Lane, Bledlow.

Show secretary Liz Folley said: “The preparations are going well. The club members have worked really hard cleaning the site and the barns and scraping mud from the yards.

“The next job is to mark out the main ring with the centre posts going up.”

In addition to trade and craft stands there will be a farmers market of local food, merry go rounds, a countryside learning area, tug of war, vintage tractors and sheepdog handling.

Young farmers competitions include a bath tub race and bale stacking.

Entrance is £10 for adults, £5 for children, under four’s free, and £25 for a family (two adults and up to three children).
