Matt Goode said the referee ‘ruined’ the match on Saturday as his Chinnor side went down 24-17 to high-flying Canterbury.
The Villagers conceded four tries in a calamity first half performance and despite Liam Gilbert and Tom Whelan going over after the break, the hosts could not recover the result.
But Goode was most disappointed by the officials’ failure to penalise a knock-on by the Canterbury full-back at a crucial stage.
He said: “The ref was awful. He ruined what could have been a very good game.
“He [the full-back] knocked it maybe three or four metres forward and at this level, with three officials to spot it, it’s not good enough.
“It was annoying and it wasn’t just with us, they were poor across the board.”
Chinnor stay 10th after the loss and travel to table-toppers Hartpury College on Saturday (3pm Kick-off).
Goode, who watched the Second XV lose 6-3 to local rivals Oxford Harlequins last night, said there are ‘five or six who deserve the chance to play at the weekend’.
Goode said: “I dislike losing more than I like winning but if we can turn up for more than 40 minutes this time, we have a chance.”
