Plans which would see fewer Oxfordshire children get free home-to-school transport are to be voted on by council cabinet members next month.
The Oxfordshire County Council proposals, which are currently being consulted on, are based on the principle of offering free transport only to those children travelling to their nearest available school.
If approved, this would reduce current provision to the national statutory level.
The council’s cabinet will make a final decision at a special meeting at 1pm on February 4.
This will follow a meeting of the council’s education scrutiny committee, which will consider the proposals at 9.30am on the same day.
Anyone wishing to submit their views on the proposals should visit the consultation pages on the council’s website.
If you are unable to contribute online you can request a paper copy of the consultation documents by calling 01865 815175.
The consultation closes on January 14.
