Great Missenden’s police station is to move down the road to the village library.
Thames Valley Police says the current building is no longer ‘fit for purpose’ and will be sold off.
The move is also intended to save money so the force can preserve bobbies on the beat.
Planning permission for the switch has been granted and it is hoped officers can move into their new office in March 2014.
Local policing commander, Supt Steve Hockin, said: “There will be no impact or changes to the level of staffing or the delivery of local policing.”
Martin Phillips, Bucks County Council cabinet member for community engagement, said: “The Thames Valley Police decision to move into Great Missenden library is a win-win for the community.
“It maintains a police presence in Great Missenden, helps put the library on a more secure financial footing, and confirms our commitment to partnership working locally.”
