The new leader of Aylesbury Vale District Council has wielded the axe in a cabinet reshuffle which has seen two prominent members dropped.
Neil Blake has removed former deputy leader Michael Edmonds and leisure guru David Thompson from his inner-circle.
Sue Polhill has become deputy leader, as well as retaining her position as cabinet member for planned development, design and conservation.
New faces Steve Bowles will become cabinet member for economic development and major projects (which was formerly part of Mr Edmonds’ remit) with Howard Mordue taking over leisure.
Mr Blake, who was elected leader on September 11 will continue in his role as cabinet member for resources.
Former leader John Cartwright will return to the back benches.
The rest of the cabinet remains unchanged.
Pam Pearce will continue as the council’s cabinet member for community matters, Carole Paternoster will continue as the council’s cabinet member for strategic planning, Brian Roberts continues as cabinet member with responsibility for civic amenities and Sir Beville Stanier is cabinet member for environment and health.
Mr Edmonds will continue to chair the strategic development control committee.
