A smoothie tasting session and coffee morning is being held at a Chinnor optician.
The event, which is being held by Ivan Cammack, is part of National Eye Health Week.
It is hoped it can help to raise awareness of the importance of eye health, good nutrition and having eye examinations every two years.
Ivan Cammack said: “Almost two million people in the UK are living with sight loss, yet over half of sight loss can be avoided, so it is vital that everyone takes care of their eyes and have regular eye examinations.
“A poor diet can put your sight at risk.
“Yet, awareness of the link between diet and good eye health is low.
“A recent survey found 60% of people in the UK had no idea that what they eat can affect the health of their eyes,”
The event is being held from 9.30am until midday on September 20.
Francesca Marchetti, chair of the National Eye Health Week steering group, said: “Sight is the sense people fear losing the most, yet many of us don’t know the best way to look after our eyes.
“This is why it is so important you get your eye health tested every two years even if you think your vision is fine, as some eye conditions may not show symptoms.”
