From bedroom to big business

An Aylesbury business set up in a bedroom has become the latest to benefit from a new Government backed advice and support service.

Aquaforest, an IT company now based at the Kingfisher Exchange in Walton Street, Aylesbury, joined the GrowthAccelerator in January

The scheme was launched in May last year with the aim of improving Britain’s brightest businesses.

Many of the entrepreneurs who have joined the scheme have since reported growth in their turnover and employment.

Managing director Neil Pitman took the decision to sign Aquaforest up following what he described as a “plateau” in business performance.

Now the company is going from strength to strength.

Neil said: “In the next week we will be launching our new product, an Aquaforest Search Light. This product is designed to audit documents and makes them suitable for search engines.

“We have had this product beta-tested so we know it has value.”

Neil started the business from his bedroom in 2001 and he had this advice for any budding businesspeople.

He said: “The key is to start simple and small, listen to the feedback from customers and develop from there.”
