Cake decorators will be in Wonderland after the chairman of Aylesbury Vale District Council launched a competition to help two charities.
A Mad Hatter’s Tea Party is being held at AVDC’s offices in Gatehouse Road on October 12 (2-4pm) in aid of PACE and the Stroke Association and cake designs are wanted as part of the theme.
“We are asking budding cake decorators of all ages and abilities to draw a Mad Hatter-themed cake design,” said Councillor Michael Rand, chairman of AVDC.
“They can draw the picture in any medium and they can include on it what flavours they would like the different features to be and what type the base cake should be.”
Winning cakes will be brought to life by a professional cake maker and other entries will be displayed at the party. Winners will also each receive a prize. There are three categories (U12, 13-18 and 18+), email madhattercake@aylesburyvaledc.gov.uk before Monday 30 September and include name, address, age and a cake name.
