The beer is flowing at a Haddenham pub again after it reopened its doors just four weeks after closing.
The Green Dragon appeared to have joined a recent list of casualties that included the Red Lion and Chinese restaurant Peking Rendezvous when it closed.
But the Enterprise Inns pub has now found new landlords and it is understood that it will offer quality food.
Parish councillor Richard Moore said: “I’m delighted. I will reserve judgement until they can produce food at a reasonable standard.
“It’s good to see someone taking up the lease and that Enterprise Inns are not going to sell it off as residential property.
“There’s an opportunity for a capable restaurateur to come in here.”
Mr Moore said he had met the new manager of the pub and that he believed a new chef was due to start this week.
The pub is likely to undergo a refurbishment with an extended dining room and new patio area planned.
