Aylesbury’s new Bucks University Technical College is encouraging students who receive their GCSE results on Thursday to get in touch with them.

Information days and a hotline have been set up to offer help and advice to young people interested in a career in construction or IT and to explain more about Bucks UTC as an option.

Bev Flanagan, principal of Bucks UTC, in Oxford Road, said: “We know some students will be devastated when they don’t get the results they hoped for, but don’t panic!

“I would urge students who would like to work in construction or IT to talk to us about what we can offer.

“Bucks UTC can help its students get industry recognised qualifications through personalised learning
programmes designed to help them achieve their goals.”

Employers like Taylor Wimpey, Cisco, Esri UK and McAfee have told the UTC what qualifications they need from students in these sectors.

The UTC students will work towards these qualifications which run alongside the usual curriculum.

You can call the Bucks UTC hotline on 01296 388451.

You can also pop along on Thursday from 5-8pm, Friday 10am-4pm, Wednesday, August 28 10am-12noon and 4-7pm Thursday, August 29 from 10am -12noon and 4-7pm.
