There are just four weeks to go before 100 abseilers scale the 200ft high County Hall in Aylesbury for charity.

The Almighty Abseil on September 7 is to open to all ages to help raise more than £10,000 for the Bucks Youth Bank.

Among the courageous fundraisers will be Bucks County Council chairman Carl Etholen, leader Martin Tett, chief executive Chris Williams and High Sheriff Sir Stuart Hampson.

Youth Bank, run by young people, raises money to give grants to other young people for activities such as dance, drama, music workshops, community safety and volunteering.

The last time an abseil took place at County Hall was in 1993.

Mr Tett said: “It’s going to be slightly terrifying but exhilarating.”

Participants have been asked to raise £100 minimum for under 18s and £150 minimum for adults over 18.
