Famous Aylesbury rockers Marillion have been included in the new film Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa.
The prog-rock group do not appear in the fictitious legendary Radio Norfolk DJ’s film nor does their music.
But there is a running gag revolving around a fictional portrayal of the band’s drummer and the band receives a special credit in the film.
Marillion were even invited to the Leicester Square premiere of the film (following the Norwich premiere which occurred after a Twitter campaign).
And the Market Square Heroes took full advantage by leaving a free copy of their CD on each seat in the cinema to attract some new fans.
Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa is out today (Wednesday) in Aylesbury’s ODEON and cinemas nationwide.
