Celebrity chef Rick Stein is to visit Thame to sign copies of his bestselling book.
The television presenter and restauranteur will be signing copies of ‘Rick Stein’s India’ at the Book House from 3pm on July 17.
The book is to accompany his new six-part series on BBC2, Rick Stein’s Indian Odyssey, in which he travels through India to find his perfect curry.
Ríck’s travels take him to chefs, home cooks and street vendors and he explores both long-held traditions and modern techniques to discover what he believes best defines Indian food.
He uncovers recipes for fragrant kormas, delicate spiced fish and slow-cooked biryanis, all the while gathering ideas and inspiration for his own take on his favourite dishes.
Mr Stein said: “Whenever I hear the word curry, I’m filled with a longing for spicy hot food with the fragrance of cumin, cloves and cinnamon.
“I see deep red colours rom lots of Kashmiri chilies, tinged with a suggestion of yellow from turmeric.
“I think of the tandoor oven and slightly scorched naan shining with and garlic.
“When Indians talk of their food, they talk about their life. To understand this country, you need to understand curry.”
The chef previously visited the Book House back in 2011 to sign copies of ‘Rick Stein’s Spain’.
